Mardi Gras (also known as carnival) season brings a variety of celebrations this year, leading up to Fat Tuesday on February 13th. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach have embraced the annual celebration, which originated in nearby Mobile, Alabama.
This is a celebration all about creative costumes and krewes staging processions through the streets. It is a feast for the senses as the signature colors of purple, green and gold can be seen everywhere and music fills the air. This celebration is often the first glimpse of the spring activities that now fill the calendar throughout Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
